Sad tale of a 1921 Thompson.

Hmmm. Inventoried a display case today. For a Thompson SMG. "Original owner: Alabama Fuel and Iron Company, Donated to blah". That means that at some point it was probably owned by this corporation, unless they found it in an attic or gave it away at the onset of the NFA. Would it still be registered? It's not my job to figure these things out but the PD in question could certainly use a quick 30,000+ dollars.

that's too bad

I have always wanted to have one.
they have a "deluxe" at the local Sportsman's Warehouse so nice, but I'm sure that it is not full auto.
what an idiot I forgot to check or ask.
the mg ban does not apply up here at least not on SMGs or ARS.
for the life of me can't remember which model it was a copy of.
the salesman said it would accept all 50 round drums and the 20 boxers, it even came in an instrument case so cool.

Yes, it does. Full auto isn't banned, as such, at the federal level. The number of full autos available to the civilian market was frozen during the Reagan administration. That's the case in all 50. There may be no additional Alaskan laws pertaining to full auto, but you most assuredly are covered by federal restrictions.
