I am looking for a speedloader for my Dan Wesson 15-2. Considering the Safariland Comp II or Comp III. Can anyone explain the reason for the difference in length?

Also, if you have any suggestions, I'm always willing to listen.

I'm not positive on the reasoning for the difference in length, but I think the Comp III is longer so that it is easier to handle (which it does by limiting its ability to be concealed). I have a few Comp II speed loaders and they're great. VERY easy to reload with and hold the ammo securely when not in use. I would highly recommend them.

Yep, the Comp III's are intended for match shooting where hiding them isn't a big requirement.

Comp II's are a nice option if you plan on carrying them around. There's a Comp I too I believe which has an even smaller center knob. But the II's are only a trifle bigger.

The CompIIIs are spring-assisted, so they're longer to accommodate the spring. Once the release is triggered, the spring actively injects the rounds into the chambers. As noted, they (and JetLoaders) are popular for competition.
