Dang it Sam, you apparently have a "vampire knife" in your collection. The safest thing to do is get rid of that knife as once it tastes blood it wants more. I had one of those at one time, it was a spyderco delica 2 that was OMG sharp. It left me with more than one cut/scar.
I am sorry to see that nasty cut, but as has been said it is a reminder that we are playing with VERY DANGEROUS tools that deserve respect. Keep the wound clean and properly bandaged and recover soon. Those scars will just be reminders as to what can happen when we let our attention waver for a moment. I still remember my boy scout days when we all had to learn to respect a sharp knife. (it involved cutting a piece of rope with a dull knife, then a sharp knife, which worked very well for a bunch of young boys)
