Safety on J.C. Higgins 22

Can anyone tell me if the safety on a J.C. Higgins can be switched from right hand to left hand. Thanks Kevin

Kevin, Sears sold guns from different manufactures under the JC Higgins name. If you could supply the model number and other details maybe we can be of help.

It is a model 30 andthe numbers on the barrel are 583.70. It says chambered for 22 L.R. only

I have done a few cross bolt safetys. Usually there is a tab that interferes with the trigger and I would basically turn the safety around and cut or drill a new detent notch. If you do switch it it is important to let others know about it and change it back if you sell the gun.
