Need some help if possible.

I've read all I can find and looked at Lees and UTube videos but I still have a glich.

Frequently the primer will not seat in the pocket in the primer tool. The safety prime does not fall away like I've seen in the videos. When I pull it away or lower the ram the primer falls out and finds a place on the floor.

I don't know if it is a windage or elevation problem. Why doesn't my safety prime fall away like in the videos. This set up is new so it can't be worn out yet--must be my set up.

Any ideas?

BTW this classic turret is new and I love it. It is solid and positive. A delight to use.

This is exactly the set up I have (Safety Prime and Classic Turret) and exactly the problem I was having. In my opinion, it is all about the movement of your fingers on the white part of the safety prime.

Not sure if you got the riser part, but that is a must have for using the safety prime with the classic turret press.

In the videos, the guy's thumb is shown on the vertically grooved part of the safety prime. I have found out that position doesn't work for me. The thumb movement isn't straight, you have to put your pointer finger on top of the little white part and the motion needs to be more "up, over, and down" as opposed to the "straight" movement advocated in the videos I've seen.

Get a cardboard box with a rag in it under the press until you figure out the right movement.

Nothing is more unnerving then dropping explosives on the floor from a distance and having them roll under the tool bench, which is located in the garage where the 3 year old child often plays...

Add a washer under the bracket that bolts onto the press. Sometimes you will need to add two, start with one and see how it goes. You will be surprised what a difference it will make.

Seems like mine took about 25-50 primers through it to smooth out, but it works perfect now.
Also, make sure the primer arm is exactly lined up with both the dispenser and the activator "hump" on the base. You can adjust this by slightly turning the top part of the ram (right under shell holder) in either direction.

my Safety Prime wasn't able to correctly line up to the ram's primer arm. I took the bracket off the top of the turret and elongated the hole with a rat tail file to allow the entire safety prime to line to the waiting primer arm.
