Saiga 12 + Surefire Mag Feed Problem

My Saiga 12 will not feed from a fully loaded Surefire 12+1 magazine. If I only load 9 rounds, the gun functions flawlessly. After examining the Surefire mag and the factory 5 round mag loaded in the gun, the Surefire mag appears to leave the shell at a more vertical angle, causing it not line up correctly and feed into the chamber.

Edit: I am using 2 3/4" Estate 00 Buckshot and Speer Lawman Rifled Slugs. I have not tried and 3" shells because I do not have any.

So will the rounds not push out of the mag?

Or the shell is hitting high and stopping?

That is where the Saiga magazine fixers hang out. Could be your follower is defective. I never saw that particular issue though. All Saiga mags besides the russian mags have some issues though most can be fixed.

The shells push out o the mag fine- they get hung up on something before being pushed into the chamber.

Get some chalk - like for a carpentry chalk-string at a hardware store - dust the shell, attempt loading, remove, and see where the residue is....knowing is half the battle!

Well, I oiled the hell out of the guts and took it out to test fire; works like a charm! No filing the mags, no failures to feed, nothing but recoil! Who'da thought some lube would fix it right up?
