2 questions... anyone have a clue when Saiga 12s will be available again thru retailers at prepanic prices? does anyone make a bull pup kit for converted Saiga 12s... I love the look of the Kushnapup and want one but they won't work for converted saiga... I own converted saiga 12. thanks, Johnny

If the Feinstein AWB pass, no new Saiga 12s will come in the country. Strangely, Saiga 20s and Saiga 410s aren't on the list.

By prepanic prices, do you mean the ATF scare level of $600, or the golden years of $300?

Given the current political situation, I would hope that Importers are trying to get all the Saigas they can get, so it really depends on what Izmash is filling to make ans ship.

As to prices, I think the best we could hope for would be a low of $500.

I did think the absence of the S20 was odd to say the least. Converted ones would fail the features test anyhow but a sporter one would not if that was one's cup of tea.

Well probably not until the panic calms down, at the soonest.

If it is converted with foreign made parts, yes, it would fail 922r. But there are sufficient US made after market parts to legally convert any of the Saiga shotguns to a preferred configuration.

I am in the same boat. I have been planning a Saiga 12 build for awhile now, squirreling away parts and so on but was holding out on buying the gun until I could find a good used one with the bolt hold open for doing a home conversion but I waited too long. Now an unconverted Saiga will cost you what a converted one with a couple mags cost six months ago.

I'm talking about the one "military feature" test in Feinstein's bill. I'd have to read the actual test to see how it would apply to converting a post ban S20 to a pistol grip configuration but it is an issue to be aware of.

Never heard of a bullpup Saiga-12 setup. However, if you're not aware this site is the Saiga Shotgun Bible:

I bought mine back in 05 NIB for $350 and now have a total of $1K (with conversion) in her--over the Holidays some friends offered me ridiculous money for it but I held on as it was a project I put too much work into resulting in a very reliable SG with any kind of load:

I know about Saiga-12 forum... I have a Saiga 12... but want another one in a bull pup configuration. kalashnapup makes them... but only for unconverted versions.

Unless it comes to even legit critiques of any of their site sponsors. I gave up on that site after watching them delete posts and ban users who were legitimately critical of certain site sponsors. There is some okay technical info there, although it can typically be found elsewhere too. Much of the legal advise there is questionable or at best not very thorough/potentially misleading (I say that as a lawyer). After reading their policies concerning forum sponsors (it is an actual rule you cannot state anything negative about something being sold by a sponsor. I quote directly from their rules and guidelines "Do not post any negative remarks toward the other members or items they have for sale!" Thus, much of the info is pretty one sided and I'd take any kind of product or business review/feedback with a pretty large grain of salt.
