I know EAA stopped distributing Saiga, and most folks though it was likely a good thing in the long run. But who has Saiga .308 mags in stock? I'd like to get some 20-rounders if they are available.

As far as I've heard, the 20-rounders never made it into the states. Saiga's are supposed to be picked up by a new importer any day now, so maybe in six months or so you'll see the 20-rounders. Or maybe not.

20-rounders never made it. I had an order placed with EAA directly, and they randomly cancelled it with the description "various business decisions mean we cannnot ship this part, your money's been returned". No reason, no nothing. Of course, then I learn of the whole issue with Saigas not being imported, but hey--you find out who's selling them, and I'll be in line right there with you.

Ok...can someone tell me why the Saigas are not being imported by EAA? And why it would be good in the long run to some?

Remington bought the Izhmash line of shotguns and market them, not very hard, under another name.
The Idea was that Remington buy all the long gun lines so EAA could concentrate on the handgun lines but Remington renigged on the Saiga line because they were 'not of a sporting nature'.
A distrubuter out of Kentucky was suppossed to start importing the line again but with Patriot Act and difficult to obtain import licenses who knows how long that may take.

Many people in the past have complained about EAA's customer service, "Surly" might be a polite way to describe it.

Personally I've never needed to talk to them so I'm mearly passing along what others have said on various forums. OTOH their website is pretty useless and confusing at best.
