when did sako stop chambering the 300 rem. ultra mag. if there's any historians out there i'd appreciate the info. i was given a SAKO 75 stainless synthetic for my birthday a year ago by my wife. she found it at a pawn shop with a redfield 4-16x attatched. apparently the owner wasn't a gun guy cause we only paid 600$ for it. it's the sweetest gun i've ever owned. if you know anything let me hear you.

The Blue Book listings for the 75 Hunter and the 75 Stainless Synthetic say the .300 RUM was made from 2000 to 2003.

Last year's Blue Book has 98% condition prices of $900 for the Hunter and $925 for the other one. Original MSRP's were $1419 and $1499.

Sounds like you got a real deal to me.

John

That is agreat deal, congrats!

Bought mine in 2003. Mine has the wood stock, I added a KDF brake and a Swarovski 6.5-24x50mm Pro-Hunter scope. Wonderful rifle, the ammo is expensive but since I bought the dies for .300rum I can shoot it without getting a loan!

yeah i love the rum too. i'm gonna start reloading as soon as i find the dies. first time too so i'm gonna take it slow. i had a 300 win mag but had to sell it for a house payment (laid off and money was tight)but later on i told my wife i'd like to have another 300 for my birthday and she took me to see this sako. i asked the guy how much and he said 600$. so without fainting and in my best poker face i said "is that the best you can do" i was giggling all the way home:p the gun didn't have a scratch on it, the action is on ball bearings, and the trigger breaks at 2 pounds with a 16th of an inch movement. someone up there loves me. thanks for the info guys.
