Careful about Wal-Mart products. I did a T&E a couple years ago and lock engagement was good on only about 60% of their folders. Giving a gift that isn't safe isn't a good deal. Look them over carefully.

I just ordered a knife from these people. Most items are on sale now for 20% off.

It's a Swiss company, but shipping on the knife I ordered was only $8 and change, free shipping on orders over $130.

Nice selection of all Swiss brands and others, they are an authorized dealer for everything they carry, and say they order direct from factory so no counterfeits.

They also will engrave on the scales of Swiss Army Knives free.

Bradford knives has 20% off today 11/26 only. I believe this is the only sale they do.

I ordered a full flat grind G3 this morning.

I agree absolutely. Knives don't take up much space, and never have we had such an abundance of useful tools at such reasonable prices. Yes, many are made in China, and I am getting better at giving those a pass, but many come from Taiwan, Europe and USA too.
I need to step up my gifting program! :D

Held off as long as I could.

I really like my D2 Dozier and have a scary edge on it.

I’m going to add an orange Dozier for field use.

Lockbacks were scarce in 1958, at least in my part of the world. So we learned to work with slip joints, and to respect their frailties. The upside is that even a lockback failure nowdays is unlikely to hurt us, because keeping pressure off the spine is as automatic as muzzle control.
Linerlocks are everywhere now, but not 100% reliable and any failure there can be painful.

My young ones were taught to drive with a manual transmission too.
