Work Schedule permitting.... Coming from the Vallejo area.... Anyone want to car pool?

yep

I can drive from Campbell, if you can get here from the north bay. Wombat, can you ask around for a good place to shoot. Not on a range. that way, .50 cal weapons would not be an issue. As well as the usual rules of ranges. And your shoulder gets tougher everytime you abuse it. Trust me. I will bring the Ten Bore for ya. PM Sven and the guys. See if they want to go. If we find a good enough place. I can teach some movement to contact stuff as well. Just dont shoot me.

Combat-Wombat:
I usually tell folks not to worry about the big recoil guns. If I'm around you'll have a chiropractor in the house :)

Duke of Lawnchair:
How've you been buddy!!!

Waiting for the 9mm Sig GSR to come out and debating on the Keltec SU-16. :) You want another Benelli, after shooting yours and Skunks during Thanksgiving I almost lost a fat wad of cash. :)

I'm thinking about something like:

Friday: arrive at campsite, spend the night
Saturday: Have lunch in town. Shoot in the afternoon. Dinner in town. Go back to campsite and spend the night.
Sunday: Go home in the AM.

Folks come and go as they please--not everyone will have time to shoot, maybe folks will want to shoot, but not camp.

I might be up for this; depends on the timing. Carpool from the bay area sounds like a good idea. I travel light since I don't have too many toys. :)

Sorry gents, but the place I think you're referring to on the Cuesta Grade has been closed for several years now. They probably closed it because of too much trash & debris.

Sgt Stevo: How many years ago did you shoot up on the Grade?

Maybe something out near Pozo or Turkey Flats area. Plenty of place to camp, but places to shoot are getting scarce. This would also be a full on campout situation, since town is at least a half an hour to forty five minutes away. I went out there a few years back, and one of my favorite spots was fenced off. Maybe a local can do some recon of the area.

If we could camp out and talk tacticality with everyone before the shoot, that would be great...

We just need to find a place to go. I'm leaning towards the national forest idea, no stupid range rules and we could just camp there. Of course, that would be a little further away from town and I don't know of any good specific locations to shoot.

Pipsqueak- if this comes together and I'm still out of work (fingers crossed I won't be) we can do the carpool thing.

...and the Prophesy did tell of one Who’s Bore was ¼ that Did Gun. And a Black Chariot With Full Tyme Four Wheel Drive he did Ride. And many were the Pre-Ban Fiery Swords With Infernal Magazines that he carried forth… And I say unto thee The Recoil Was Good!

And I heard a voice in the midst of the four Berettas, and I looked and behold, a black skunk, and his name that said on him was Tactical. And carbon followed with him.

forest

It is ok to shoot almost anywere in the national forest. Just have to be safe and smart about it. YOu going quarter bore? It would be cool if all the guys from up here did a convoy thing. Considering the amount of toys we all bring. I know I am a paranoid Army puke, but it is better to travel in a group.

Eventhought a national forest does not have stupid range rules. However, I think assault weapons does not go well with BLM's folks.

You may want to keep that in mind....

The Bureau of Land Management California policy is to allow the use of firearms on public lands, as provided for in state law, and to cooperate with state authorities in the enforcement of firearms regulations. Federal lands managed by the BLM in California are generally closed to the possession of assault weapons, as defined by state law: However, BLM Field Managers, after consultation with the State Office and the public, may designate specific areas, through issuance of specific authorization, where state defined assault weapons may be utilized. This would be under authority of the Recreation and Public Purposes Act. Such authorizations will require compliance with the appropriate regulations and state laws. The authorizations will contain safety conditions, including liability insurance. Authorization will specifically require that it will be the responsibility of the lessee to ensure adherence to state law regarding assault weapon use at these specially authorized areas
