Savage 10/12 question

Yes,

as long as you stay with the appropriate action length (2-digit model= short, 3-digit model = long) the stocks are interchangable.

the savage centerfire actions that do not easily switch stocks are,

the "J-series" which was a weird short lived "mid-length" action. and isn't common enough to really worry about.

Any model that uses a third bedding screw, such as the Muzzleloaders, and F-class single shots (12 F-class, and 12 F/TR)

+1 what he replied, Im currently using a Choate ultimate varmint stock on my Savage 10FP, it is a solid stock with features.

But, considering going with a different stock design for my FP10.

It depends if they are both the same feed, Centered or Staggered their screws are about .25 inch different. From what I understand you might not necessarily be able to switch a 12 from last year with a 12 from this year even though they are both accutrigger. Just a new change they made.
