Savage question

Okay all you Savage followers. What is the difference in a model 10, 11 & 12 Savage rifle? I am looking for a P'dog gun and found a model 11 and wanted to make a good decision before plunking down the cash. I like to ask questions then buy. Thanks for any info. Mac

Functionally, nothing; same basic receiver, all 2 digit receivers are short actions. Barrel profiles/lengths are different, sometimes finishes. Savage makes receivers in blued steel and stainless, but the parts all interchange. Model 11 probably has a sporter barrel, Model 10 usually has a 20" varmint, Model 12 usually has a 26" varmint.
