bought a used savage 10 fcp with a mcmillan stock. The model engraged on the receiver is savage 10 not savage 10 fcp, is this normal?

Gun shoots great. Have struggled to shoot sub moa with my remington 700 with mcmillan stock over 400 rounds. With the savage I was doing it by my 10th round (which includes rounds to get the scope zeroed).

Totally insane.

Yes, I think that's normal...I have a savage 10 pc and it doesn't say pc on the barrel...Congrats on the nice rifle

That thing will shoot. I used to have one that came in the HS precision stock. Really liked that rifle, but wound up having to sell it.

With your stock I may have kept it lol.

308. I really struggled with the rem 700 (have a mcmillan stock on it too). For whatever reason I couldnt get it dialed in for several hundred rounds. Base was loose, rings were loose, etc. Nothing that was the fault of the gun.

The stock just was tall enough that it was hard to zero by looking through the barrel.

Rounds could go just a bit behind the bolt in the mag so rounds wouldnt chamber and I had to single feed it or push each round forward a bit to get it to feed.

Savage is like butter in comparison.
