After much consideration, I ended up going with the Savage 10FP base model, figured I'll upgrade over time. There are two specific things I want to change on this rifle, the stock and the trigger. While I understand and have used the accutrigger, I do want to get something with adjustable throw. I've looked at the Sharp Shooter Competition trigger (http://www.sharpshootersupply.com/Triggers.html) which seems pretty good. I'm also considering the McMillan stock or the Bell and Carson Duramax, while the McMillan is certainly a better stock, the Duramax seems a better value. My concern for a stock with this is takedown screw spacing; it seems the Duramax stocks are designed for the older 4.25" spacing, while the new 10FPs have the 4.40" spacing.
Anybody had good/bad experiences with aftermarket stocks or triggers for the 10FP, or any recommendations?

I have an older 10FP,made before the Accutrigger and McMillan stock was available.I installed a Timney trigger after I first shot the rifle, and recently obtained a Bell & Carlson Duramax stock (green with black spiderweb). It is the most accurate rifle I have ever had.I was quite pleased with the B & C stock, and I think it was well worth putting it on.

Take a look at the Choate "ultimate" stocks. They're very rigid, hold onto the action in a pair of aluminum v channels and keep the bbl well free floated.

The downside is they're heavy, but if you're like me you consider this to be an advantage.

I currently use the Rifle Basix SAV1 in my 7.62x39mm bench gun and am happy with it but for a little more money the SSS or Sav2 trigger does offer more tuneability
