savage 220 issues

Hey, I'm considering the Savage 220 for my next deer gun. However, I'm hearing about issues regarding the ejected shells hitting the scope... and needing a special scope mount from Evolution Gun Works. Does anyone know anything about this?

Thanks. I just bought it this weekend, and I think I'll get the picatinny rail anyway... just for the sake of scope-positioning options.
