Savage 340 / Stevens 325b

Does anyone know where to find the tool for the barrel nut on a Stevens 325b or Savage 340 30-30?

Even the guys on savage shooters forum didn't know where to get one. But you should try there anyhow, someone may have since found one.

You could always have one made. Just take the barreled action to a machine shop and see what they can come up with. Make a mold of the nut, and they can grind you a new tool. Might cost more than the gun is worth though... by several hundred dollars.

Use brass shims between the wrench and the nut.

I made mine out of a 1 1/8" socket and shimmed with brass sheet. A 1 1/16" size may be a better fit.
