Savage 99

Can anybody sugest a good repair for a hair line crack in the butt stock of a savage model 99 on the left side of the tang. Thank you

I'd suggest Brownell's accuraglass. Mix a small batch (they DO sell the stuff in small amounts), spread the stock split just wide enough to force some of the mix into it......small compressor helps if you have one....I've even used wife's hair drier....careful here tho! Once you have the stuff inserted tightly wrap the area with surgical tubing. Works like a charm and if carefully done is undetectable.

I`ve done something simular to what has been suggested and everything
worked out well. But as mentioned, be very careful.
