Kind of a dumb question but I can't find a local shop that has a Savage with an Accu-stock. I'm look at a model online that has the accu-stock but not sure how the stock feels in hand. Not really concerned with the grip angle, as it looks like all the standard sporter stocks I've had in the past. I'm look more about if it feels flimsy like their standard plastic stocks but with the bedding wedge thingy in it? Or does it have a more solid/heft feel to it like a reinforced fiberglass stock would feel?

I'm going to buy online so would hate to get it and not like the feel of the stock and have to sell it off to slap on something else on it (B&C or laminate).

Feedback is appreciated,
Hawk

It is their flimsy tupperware stock but the near full length aluminum insert in the forearm really stiffens it up compared to the non- Accustock.
I like mine, the 2nd generation model without the "wedge".

As the owner of a 16FCSS with the AccuTrigger and AccuStock, let me make this as clear as possible ... the AccuStock is an unmitigated POS with an equally poor excuse for a butt pad. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if Savage buys that disgraceful excuse for a rifle stock from some crap hole in China. It's a pity really since the AccuTrigger is one of the best triggers on the market. If you buy a Savage with the AccuStock and like the rifle, I seriously doubt you'll keep the stock. I don't like defective products so I don't like my Savage rifle ... it just sits in the safe with a fancy McGowen barrel on it.

Got ya.. thanks for the replies. I've had several Stevens 200's I used for builds and the stocks were basically just something to ship the gun in.. the barrels on the other hand are very nice. I really like the look of the Predator Hunter but may have to step up to one of the other models, or just chuck it and get an aftermarket.

Buy a new stock for it then, you don't have to keep it Accu-stocked.

I wish it were that simple. Changing the stock is easy, fixing the receiver isn't. I may come across as a Savage hater but honestly I'm not. I like the DIY barrel nut, the AccuTrigger, the three-position safety with lockable bolt and the large extractor. They're kind of crude and chubby and look like they were built by a woman named Olga in Siberia, but when they work, they work very well.

Just curious how yours is "defective". Of course it's not like a stock from a Cooper but does it not shoot accurately or what?
What caliber is it, maybe someone (like me) would relieve you of the burden of owning that defective POS.

The top of the receiver isn't level. The Weather Warrior is supposed to have a level receiver according to Savage. All ring/base manufactures assume that the receiver is level so they build rings/based accordingly. Before I realized that the top of the receiver wasn't level, I recommended a Weather Warrior to a neighbor and his receiver (116FCSS) wasn't level either but his wasn't as bad as mine.

In addition, when I bought my 16 chambered in 7mm-08 Rem the barrel had a 1:11.25 twist but Savage did a running change and now the rifle ships with a 1:9.5 twist. That's my fault for not educating myself and assuming that the Omniscient Savage knew what they were doing. Ultimately, I suppose I haven't sold the rifle since I want it to work well because it has many features that I like. If I can fix the receiver and get it to shoot well I will definitely change the stock to a B&C or similar. I already have a gorgeous McGowen barrel on it with a 1:9 twist so I might as well push on. I would have a hard time selling it to someone without full disclosure.
