Hi
Would appreciate some info regarding the Savage mod. 93 BTVSS rifle in 0.22WMR.

Here in the uk our dealers do not have many rifles in the racks to look, hold & decide.

I am interested in the above rifle. However none of the available info states whether or not the rifle comes with bases for scope rings or instead if the top of the receiver is milled ready for rings to be fitted.
Can a Picatinny rail be fitted onto the receiver.

Would appreciate any info from any member having one of these rifles.

Many Thanks
Regards
Yamavira.

Mine is in 17hmr but it came with a two piece picantinny rail already attached if they make one the a one piece rail could be put in its place

Yamavera, I've got one and yes they do come with the receiver drilled and tapped for scope mounts, I don't believe they come with iron sights, at least mine didn't. I used Weaver type mounts on mine and a Bushnell 3X9 Elite scope with Burris rings. That rifle will shoot sub-MOA with 5 shot groups. Note I did replace the stock with a Boyds Grey Laminated Monte Carlo stock, and did a trigger job, as well, free floated the barrel. Hope this helps you, I do like this rifle as far as varmints are concerned.

Savage Rifle

Thanks for the replies guys. Most appreciated.

I have long wanted a Boyds T'hole laminated stock in the incredible Royal Jacaranda colours. The stocks are fantastic according to many who have bought them here in the UK. Unfortunately Boyds would & will only ship to the UK if a stock was/is valued at $99 or less.
RJ has never been below $100.

Cheers

I have the same gun. I've yet to shoot sub-MOA with it, but I've only run CCI 30 grain ammo through it.

Drilled for scope, but no rail or rings. Since my last shooting session, I've bedded the front and rear lug and have scrounged up some various weights in ammo.

Eagerly awaiting my next shooting session with it. Great trigger also.

Good luck.

Noticed mine will shoot the Federal 40 grain JHP the best, I've had clover leafs at 50 yards, and well under moa at 100 yards on a calm day. I did take a coyote at an honest 150 yards (per my Simmons range finder) about 5 years or so ago. Again a very nice rifle.

I love mine. It has always been a tack driver. I put it in a Boyds thumbhole and the accuracy got a little better. I wish I was able to reload for it.
