Does anyone have experience with this model? It has a 20 inch medium contour barrel, accutrigger, accustock (in a digital camo pattern). It weighs in at 7 pounds, so it seems to me it might be a good hunting rifle, though it seems to be touted primarily to law enforcement.

I am considering one in 308, and thought I would get input here.

What is a good price on these? around $700?

My older brother has one. Its a "shooter".

Excellent trigger on it...right from the factory.

Barrel length makes for a nice balance (for hunting).

Is the 20 inch barrel less accurate than longer barrels?

Does this rifle have a round or flat rear receiver? It looks like scope bases/mounts will depend on that.

How do you guys mount scopes to your Savage 10's?

I am gonna bump this one more time just to see if anyone stumbles along with the info.

I have an old 110 that i use ARMS hardware on from Mounting Solutions Plus. it's a real shooter even after 13 years.

No, a 20 barrel is not less accurate. In many cases the shorter barrels can be more accurate. The longer barrel is good for increased velocity, not increased accuracy.

My buddy has one and it is a fantastic shooter!

It's hard to go wrong with just about ANYTHING from Savage. Amazing out of the box accuracy, even on their budget weapons (Axis or Stevens 200)

My cousin just bought that exact model. Put a SWFA scope on it and it is a nice shooter. I have trouble with getting a good cheek weld off a bench but that's an individual thing. I am used to my rifle.

I loaded some good plinking rounds for it and it held MOA right away but isn't so heavy that you can't hunt with it.

Good rifle.
