Does anybody know anything concerning the new model 25 rifle in .223. I am looking for a P'dog gun and can't decide which of the Savages to get. This model 25 has a different bolt setup than anything I have seen. Any and all info is appreciated. Thanks Mac

The model 25 action is designed more closely to their rimfire rifles than the standard 10-110 action. The model 25 is a great, accurate gun, but a bit more petit and lighter than a model 10-110.

I like Savages and have several. I recently talked my friend into a model 25. After getting it I was not impressed. The lockup on it was very tight almost to the point you couldn’t chamber a round. We tried with different ammo and still had the same issue. The detachable box mag felt cheap and didn't lock in with pressing really hard. The model shipped with bases already mounted but I have to say they where way off and will need to be replaced with others. We got the scope mounted but where unable to get it aligned with the current base situation. I would have to agree about the model 12. I have one, in 308 though. And also have one of there FTR in 308. Both are awesome shooting rifles. Maybe its cause the model 25 is new but like I said I wasn’t impressed.

Thanks guys, that's why I like to ask questions before spending my $$. I think I will look for a model 10 or 12. Again thanks, Mac
