I was searching the internet and realized you can convert savages from bottom to top bolt releases. I was looking and one guy found a top release from numrich. (https://www.gunpartscorp.com/Products/139590D.htm) Talking about accutrigger here on a 2013 M11 Savage
I thought you had to go through an FFL to get such parts, but if its possible to get one, what do you all think about it? That 12 dollar part would save me 40$ on a more expensive DBM that accomodates the bottom release. On top of that, side releases seem easier to use and dont get in the way of the action screw like the bottom ones do. The PTG DBM has a different style of release button, but a sear style change is almost 30$ saved. Not a lot, but worth it!
I realize you have to mill down the side of the gun as well, but Im not too worried about that as of now. Some people say you can just bend the sear piece around. Not so sure about that because I worry it would be too hard and break, but machineshops are plentiful. Its just a matter of if they will work on a gun or not. Might have to be local guy thatll do it for free to avoid FFL/licensing work.
