SBR AR in 7.62x39, estimated costI'm looking for an alternative to a Krinkov AK SBR, just to see if anything out there might be a better deal. Currently, AK Krink built rifles run $950 for the Yugo M92's (10" barrel, underfolding stock), to $1300 for the now very hard to find Bulgarian Krinks (8" barrel, side or underfolding stocks).

I'm trying to estimate what an SBR AR in 7.62x39 would cost using a lower that takes AK mags (to make it reliable). Who makes 7.62x39 uppers besides DPMS? Do I have to go custom for one of these if it is now DPMS? I have read that the DPMS barrels won't shoot steel case 7.62x39 very well, DPMS recommends brass cased ammo only, so DPMS is not an option for an upper.

AR47 lower (which takes AK mags and drums)....$350
AR47 upper and carrier mods (to take AK mags)..$75
SBR tax stamp................................................ $200
hammer, FCG parts for AR47 lower....................$???
AR 8" or 10.5" A3 upper in 7.62x39.....................$???
(buttstocks and other inexpensive parts can be figured in later)

As much as I would love an SBR Krinkov, the thought of an SBR AR in 7.62x39 would be cool because I could get handguards, mount optics, get accessories, etc. much easier than for the AK and it would certainly be unique and exotic, which is the reason for the SBR in the first place.

Thanks to amphibian for pics of his AR SBR in 7.62x39
