SCAR prices coming down

I was just on gunbroker.com and there are quite a few SCAR rifles NIB at 2500-3000$. lowest "buy now" price i saw was 2600. I bet the people who payed 9k a while back are kicking themselves (if they even care)

now if the price can get to arround 2k i can almost justify buying one

FN had set the MSRP for the SCAR-16S at $2500.
When they were first released, the dealers were selling they well above the MSRP due to supply/demand issues.
Supply is slowly catching up with demand, hence the reason why you are now seeing the prices near the MSRP.

I've seen a couple close at $2350, and haven't seen a bid over that that I recall in a while. I've seen "buy it nows" at 2499 sit there.

It is a year after release. Even at 2500 msrp, their market has got to be somewhat limited. That is well above any competing or almost-competing platform. However, just due to the dealer cost I think 2350 seems like about the bottom unless there is a wholesale reduction.
