Went to the range today. Had to wait about 15 minutes for the CCW class to finish range qualifications. While I was wandering around I came across the list for the class participants. On the sheet were columns for name, brand/model, and caliber of the gun you use to qualify. Looking at the list, I noticed the usual colletion of Ruger, S&W, Glock, etc in 9mm, 45 ACP, 380 and so forth. But one in particular got my attention. One participant had listed "Lorcin, .25 ACP" . Figured it had to be a joke until I saw the guy go out the door with said gun in hand :what: !

Any thoughts? I know sometimes funds are limited, but a Lorcin???

Better than harsh language ;)

Seriously, were I mugging someone, I wouldn't want to bet it wouldn't work. First rule of a gunfight, and all that.

"Uh, uh. I know what you're thinking. Does this pistol fire six shots or none? Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement, I've kinda lost track myself. But being as this is a .25 Lorcin, the crummiest handgun in the world, and would blow your nosehairs clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya punk?"

My advice, keep the Lorcin full of ammo, try a head shot with it, by that I mean, throw the loaded gun at the BG and try to hit him in the head with it.:D Now that would hurt.

I believe that all people have the right to bear arms of their chosing no matter how stupid their choices are. That said, I just hope that something doesn't go catastrophically wrong and some innocent bystander get hurt. I'm not sure if this is possible but I'd rather spend a few extra bucks and get a Makarov.

Without knowing the internals of the Lorcin, may I just point out that carrying it with a round chambered is likely out of the question for safety reasons.

Why not a cheap derringer? At least its hard to jam one.

I'm with...

...Handy on this.

I mean, it's a free country and all, but there have got to be a million better choices on the market than a Lorcin .25...

Don't you think the Lorcin would be a good gun if you were purchasing it to keep in a safe?

It wouldn't matter if it got bent or whatnot.

Well, maybe if I had some paperwork in there that needed to be held down.

Who cares if a Lorcin gets bent? They don't work when they're not bent, so how can it hurt anything? ;) :p

God willing, just the sight of it (when used in a defensive situation) would cause the "would be" mugger to double over in laughter, giving you a chance to escape.

Either that, or when the first shot fairs to fire...you can use it as a Kubaton, and start gouging eyes with it.

Either that, or hand it to the mugger first thing....mugger pulls the trigger, and gets his hand fragged....giving you time to escape.

There are million good defensive uses for a Lorcin...you just have to be creative.

Geez, arinvolvo, you are hard man! :D :D :D Very funny!

So this was after the "CCW class" or qualification or whatever you call it in the Land of Orange? So, if he was leaving, I may presume he finished the course and passed with the Lorcin? At least that one works.

Hope this bird gets the word before something bad happens to him or others.:(

Had a guy come up to the counter at the shop I work at with a Jennings. He asked how to take the slide off so he could clean it. The guy I work with next to me said

"Take it out on the range and Shoot it, it will eventially break off."

I had to walk away so I would burst out laughing. :D

Besides, isn't that the niche these guns go after (the low income, need a SD piece - niche)?
Doesn't it just comes down to personal circumstances?

CCW of a Lorcin shouldn't be a problem... just remember to carry 3-feet of parachute cord with a small carabiner tied to one end as backup...

WHEN the pistol fails to fire, quickly clip the biner to the trigger guard and swing menacingly over your head while growling and barring your teath.
