I have decided my next rifle will be a Savage 10FP in .308. The scope I want to mount on it will be a Leupold Mark 4 LR/T 3.5-10x40 with M3 target knobs.
Looking at scope bases, what would be the maximum range/elevation adjustment I could get out of this scope using a standard base vs. the 20 moa cant? I am aware of the considerable drop a .308 has at longer ranges.
If I opt for the base with the 20 moa cant, can I still get a 100 yd. zero without bottoming out the elevation adjustment, or is the 20 moa setup going to shoot several inches high at 100 yds?
I normally shoot at ranges from 100-300yds. but would like the option of longer range if possible.
Thanks.
