Scope Mount 1911

I'd like to mount a Red Dot or Match Dot on one of my 1911s. Is there a good quality smith-less mount available or are they a waste of $$$. Thanks, Frank

I've used burris 's mount for their fast fire holo sight, they have others too. Fits right in the dove tail, no smith required.

Here is a J-Point in a dove tail groove.

I prefer this Weigand scope mount for a 1911, and they work great, but you either have to have a Gunsmith install it, or be very handy with drilling tapping, etc.

I installed this Serendipity sight.

I'm going to take my time and do it right. I'm not against having a mount professionally installed but if a bolt on works I might try that route.
Anyway, found this. Not pretty but functional.

I have one like that I bought used at a gun show. It wastes away in a drawer somewhere. Yea, it will work, but if you are picky, I believe it will leave you wanting.
