I have a Marlin 336CS (30-30 Win), a Winchester Model 94 (32-40 Win) and a Savage 16FCSS (7mm-08 Rem). The Marlin has a Bushnell Banner Trophy (3x-9x 40mm) mounted using see through mounting rings to get the scope high enough off the rifle for my left eye. I've tried playing around with having both eyes open, or putting a patch over my left eye, I ended up with more of an ear-jaw bone weld than a cheek weld. It also felt very awkward. At this point I think I would vastly prefer to stay as left eye - right hand shooter.

I use the rifles mostly for paper punching and hog hunting (stand) and I may in the future go after deer.

I'd appreciate suggestions for optics & mounting configuration for the Marlin and Savage, the Winchester I'll stick with iron sights, though I will probably upgrade the factory irons.

I'm also right handed, left eye dominate and it's a pain for target acquisition but the only real fix after 62 years is left eye closed right hand shooter.

The real solution to this problem is to learn to shoot left handed. It will be very uncomfortable at first, but will be much easier to adapt to than working around your eye dominance to fit your dexterity. You're never going to reach your full potential as a shooter by trying to put the rifle in front of your weak eye, or by using some jacked-up excuse for a position and cheek weld to put your dominant eye on the wrong side of your body. Experiment with it, and DON'T QUIT just because it feels weird. It will take time to re-wire your brain to hold a rifle the "wrong way", but it can be done.
