So I'm looking for a scope mount to swap b/w my pellet rifle an AR.. is there something that's fairly easy to remove and will work well? It's a flat-top AR.. and the pellet rifle has a really cheap dovetail-weaver converter thing that I bought to mount a red dot on

Currently I'm looking towards purchasing a nikon prostaff kit.. comes w/ that rangefinder 550.

The first thing that caught my eye is that walmart has Leupold mounts for 16 bux or so. I'd love to think I could go by brand name.. but 16 bux for scope mounts just feels like they won't hold a zero on an AR

I'm not quite looking in to QD stuff yet.. b/c the laruetactical stuff I've seen is like 200 bux.

I'd like to keep the mounts under 100 bux if possible unless absolutely necessary to work on a .223 .. which feels recoil-less to me as it is

If you want to mount a scope on an AR for cheap the best alternatve I have found is the Leupold see through mounts sold at Walmart for around $18. They mount directly to the picatinny rail and do lot require an adaptor to raise them to the correct height. They are really light and help keep the weight of the rifle down as well. Not every Walmart carries them around here so you may have to look around.

They would not be my 1st choice for a rifle I was going to take into combat, but I have one AR set up this way and so far it has worked fine. The 223 does not recoil much at all and I have had no problems with it holding zero.
