Alright, I plan on buying this simmons 4x 32mm scope http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?productNumber=417845?cm_cat=Cart&cm_pla=ProductDesc

This would go on my Marlin 925 and i planned on mounting it with a set of rimfire scope rings onto the 3/8 dovetail. Is mounting to the dovetail alright on a .22?

Also I plan on mounting it myself, I do not have a gun vice, is there anything i can use to hold it to mount this scope?

Sorry for the long post but i just want to know what im doing before i start going into this.

Yes, you can mount it yourself.
Yes, 3/8" tip-off rings will clamp right on your receiver dovetail.
No, you don't need a gun vice to mount a scope on a .22 rifle.

You do need a set of good screwdrivers that fit the screw slots.

First:
1. Put the rings on the receiver and tighten them down.
2. Mount the scope in the rings and align the crosshairs so they are straight up & down with the rifle.
3. Tighten the screws.

4. Go sight it in.
Start out at 10-15 yards to get on paper.
Then move out to 25 - 50 yards to fine tune zero it.
