I picked up a CZ-452 Varmint 22 rifle for my wife today. She shot a scoped 10/22 at the range (belongs to a friend of ours) recently and throughly enjoyed it.

The Varmint doesn't have iron sights. We're primarily pistol shooters, so I don't have any real knowledge regarding scopes. I do have a "junker" that was in a box of random gun-related junk. It's a no-name Chinese model, and I suspect it won't cut the mustard because it was in the box-of-junk.

This will primarily be a target gun. We belong to an outdoor club with 100 and 200 yard rifle ranges. I suspect most of the shooting will be at the 25-50 yard pistol ranges with leftover sporting clays on the berm. There's a slight chance this setup would be used to dispatch an occasional squirrel.

I already have the CZ scope rings.

Can I get some recommendations for a not-horribly expensive scope? I'd like to spend $100 or less, preferably less.

Thanks!

Steve

I will second the Mueller APV; great scope for the money and plenty of magnification (up to 14x) for groups at 50yards. I have one and absolutely love it.

Check out the Nikon Pro Staff series
The one called the Rimfire sells for around $110.00.
I have two.
One is on a Savage .17 HMR.
The other is on a T/C Omega .50 cal inline.
Rugged scope, surperb brightness, positive 1/4 minute adjustments.
