I hate to brag, but....
The gun show turned out to be quite productive this weekend. I ended up with a 225/P6 in about 90% condition, two magazines, and the box. This is one of the better examples of the species that I've seen.
$300. Plus, I bought a third mag for $25.
It bears an import stamp on the slide to a company called Century Arms. The labels on the box are all in German, including the shipping information to the US importer. I'd love to track the history of this little gun, just to see when it hit the country, where it started, etc.
The barrel didn't look like much lead had ever gone down it. The internals didn't show much wear at all in the places they normally show wear. The spring still has a lot of life left in it. It has a slight bit of holster wear on top of the slide, but the frame has zero wear on the outside. Somebody took real good care of this little pistol. It was oiled nicely. It didn't rattle a bit when shaken.
I really like this little gun. It fits my hand much better than the 239, which never really felt right to me. It's one of those guns that you just know you're going to shoot lights-out with. It just feels right. This gun is exactly what I was looking for: a single-stack 9mm that was light and thin. It's like a shrunken 220.
The sights are just fixed black, but I slapped a little paint on the front and rear sights, and that helped. The double-action is pretty stout, but the single-action is one of the smoothest on a Sig that I've ever dealt with.
The only thing I might have to do is add some night sights, and possibly polish the feed ramp, but I'll see how it handles Hydra-shoks and Golden Sabers first. Anything else that I need to watch out for?
