I hate to brag, but....:D

The gun show turned out to be quite productive this weekend. I ended up with a 225/P6 in about 90% condition, two magazines, and the box. This is one of the better examples of the species that I've seen.

$300. Plus, I bought a third mag for $25.

It bears an import stamp on the slide to a company called Century Arms. The labels on the box are all in German, including the shipping information to the US importer. I'd love to track the history of this little gun, just to see when it hit the country, where it started, etc.

The barrel didn't look like much lead had ever gone down it. The internals didn't show much wear at all in the places they normally show wear. The spring still has a lot of life left in it. It has a slight bit of holster wear on top of the slide, but the frame has zero wear on the outside. Somebody took real good care of this little pistol. It was oiled nicely. It didn't rattle a bit when shaken.

I really like this little gun. It fits my hand much better than the 239, which never really felt right to me. It's one of those guns that you just know you're going to shoot lights-out with. It just feels right. This gun is exactly what I was looking for: a single-stack 9mm that was light and thin. It's like a shrunken 220.

The sights are just fixed black, but I slapped a little paint on the front and rear sights, and that helped. The double-action is pretty stout, but the single-action is one of the smoothest on a Sig that I've ever dealt with.

The only thing I might have to do is add some night sights, and possibly polish the feed ramp, but I'll see how it handles Hydra-shoks and Golden Sabers first. Anything else that I need to watch out for?

Check all your springs. Do a search it is well documented what should be done to a P225 to make it run better. The German Police set them up to with some not so attractive features IMHO.

Did I mention that I'm a technical idiot?

I have no idea how to post pictures, wish I did.

But I DO have a P6. I DO! I DO!

You could change some things in the gun to make it run slightly better, but I think the gun is fine as is.

So far mine has not failed in any way, but I haven't really tested it with all kinds of ammo and in different conditions.

+1

If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

All I did to mine was put a slightly lighter P225 mainspring in it ($4.00 from Brownell's) and replaced the white-dot sights with Meprolites.

They don't need nothing else except ammo.
Mine has fed everything I have shot in it, including the reloading bench floor sweepings, with nary a bobble.

I ordered a set of front and rear sites from CDNN for approximately $10.00. Included different height fronts and rears(they're numbered) to adjust POI...these are all marked with white dot.

I also ordered a set of 4 mainsprings from Wolff...they came in today. Only $16.80 with shipping. Going to experiment with them today.

Everyone has been badmouthing my P6, but I think it's a great gun. Great to experiment with and a perfect little carry gun...IMO.

Seriously, I had about a 15 - 20 year accumulation of old 9mm reloading die set-up loads seated slightly too deep, bent & dinged JHP openings, etc. that were safe but probably unreliable.

So I shot them up in the P6 just to see if it would feed them & get the brass back.

It did! :D

I was seriously considering picking one up since I saw them for $260 on jg but can't get over the single stack. It would be purely a range gun.
