Up here the gun has to be stored out of sight and the magazine needs to be out of the gun and stored in another compartment. Otherwise if you have a CPL keep the weapon on you whenever possible.

An a LEO I cringe every time I read a "cop" thread. I was relieved to read that this particular officer didn't do anything to violate your rights.

I hate that what an INDIVIDUAL officer does in another state affects me. There is only one rule of thumb for what type of people police are. They are all PEOPLE. Some are cool, some aren't. Some are educated. Some aren't. My agency runs the full education range. High school graduate up to a Sgt. with the title Dr. before his name (defense attorneys hate that).

If you have a bad experience I am truly sorry. Please don't judge every officer based on one, or even multiple, jerk cops who fail to carry out their duties.
