I came upon this in another forum and thought it may interest some. The discussion was about kb's happening due to less than fully supported chambers. It demonstrates the varying thickness of brass among brands.

Top row: A-MERC (thin), A-MERC (thick), BLAZER (brass reloadable), CBC (Brazil), Cor-Bon, Federal, G.F.L (Fiocchi), and IMI (Israeli Military).

Bottom row: *I* (Independence), PMC (Korea), R-P, S&B (Czech), Speer, StarLine, WCC (military), and Winchester (WWB)

Not my work but taken with permission!

Must be an optical delusion !

Then its from the bandsaw blade dragging metal across the open edges ?

Those are very likely belt-sanded.

And it's not an optical allusion.

If you stop on either side of the exact center line, the edges of a semicircle really are thicker.

And he did.

The Magtech hull looks as though it has a stress crack in the web.

This photo is of another hull. Would you want to Red-Line this hull?

Impressive photo John wall! That took a lot of work both on the machining and photography.

Is that a Federal .40? I have culled hundreds that look that way - when you can see the pronounced ring looking in the case. I never thought to section one.
