Hey,
I've got a variety of SKS rifles, including a new-to-me Chinese SKS-M (the one that takes AK mags).

Some questions/experience.

1. Pointers on ordering - does the same stock fit both configurations
2. My SKS-M seems to be really finicky on accepting mags... not sure how it will work in the SG Works stock.
3. I like the idea of a detachable mag SKS bullpup, especially since I have a lot of AK mags, but the SG works video of the use of stripper clips looks really effective/efficient.

Any experience with either is appreciated.

I can tell you for sure that any stock designed for the fixed mag SKS will not accept the AK mags for the SKS-M or SKS-D. Its generally pretty easy to open them up enough to accept the AK mags but then you have a "hole" where the fixed mag hinge used to be, in front of the AK mag.

I did fit a Tapco Interfuse SKS "tactical" stock to one of my SKS-M rifles and filled the hole with JB Weld painted black. With a gas tube mounted red dot its a good shooter.

Check the.....

...Bullpup forum before you embark on your build. Lot's of ideas there. Wish I would've gone there before I put a Kushnapup stock on my Saiga .410. There's a gent there who makes really nice wooden bullpup stocks over there. He did a really nice one for an "M". I'm currently dealing with him for a stock on a Yugo. I have a thread under "Other Bullpup Rifles" called "looking for ideas". He has a great pic of his "M" in that thread. His moniker is LKermit on that forum.
