keep the service six and put the gp100 in layaway jail you'll be happy in the long run

If you sell the Service Six you will regret it later. If you must have the 3" GP100 buy it outright or layaway.
The Six Series revolvers are awesome performers, so are the GP series. Own both and be happy.

I have both, and I prefer the Six.

I’ve never quite understood the statement that Ruger doesn’t support the Six series anymore....from a parts standpoint that would mean frame/barrel/cylinder I guess, but plenty of custom Smith’s can fix you up with cylinders and barrels, so unless you have a frame failure of some form I don’t know how else it matters.

The Six will provide you years of trouble-free enjoyment.

^ Yeah, but if you had to do all that, how much would it cost?

I am guessing way too much for a crowd that is pretty used to "Send it in to Ruger and watch them make it right".
