Semi-Auto Long Action......?

Who makes a semi auto rifle that is a long action??

Another one of my "ideas".......I like shooting my 6.5 swede bolt guns, but for grins and giggles, would like a semi-auto swede. Not an older model Swedish LJungman. Thought about converting a modern semi gun. What do yoyu all think?

Correction ALL 7400's are long action. The only difference from 308 to 06 length is the 08 based rounds have the magazines partially blocked to the rear.

Beretta has a semiauto hunting rifle in 30-06. There is a possibility it could be Benelli. I can't quite remember which.

The Browning BAR would be my first choice. I shoot one in 375/338 and even with the long 350 Woodleigh's at 3.45 OAL there is plenty of room as far as length is concerned.



Biggest problem will be finding a gunsmith willing to do the work with the gas system, it may require some reworking but I think for the 6.5X55 it shouldn't be anywhere near as difficult as tuning the 375/338 was. Bolt face may be any problem if one of the standard calibers doesn't match rim size.

Well, like I said, it's just an idea. Thought as time goes on, and I find the right components worth the money, I might try it for the sake of trying it.
