Does anyone make, or has anyone made, a semi-auto, pistol-caliber carbine with a tubular magazine? I am looking for the semi-auto equivalent of a Colt Lightning or IMI Timberwolf or a Marlin Model 60 on steroids. I know that early Ruger .44 carbine models had a small tubular magazine before they went to the now-familiary Ruger rotary magazine. Any others?

Cheers,

Matthew

Stumped me, aside from the old Ruger I can't think of any either.

Even the lever guns in pistol rounds are hard to find these days.

May I ask why it has to be a tube fed semi? Lots more options if you look at levers or mag fed.

Is a good question, must be a good reason there aren't more. Lack of demand maybe? "tactical" guys will want a mag fed weapon and I guess hunters seemed happy enough with a lever. I'll have to ponder this more............

Thanks, the rationale for the combination was just that I am not a fan of "tactical" anything and I am looking for something different. I enjoy shooting my M1 Carbine and I like the old lever guns, so I thought I'd look for a marriage of the two.

I've looked for such a rifle too. To me I like the idea of just have a pocket, bag, etc ful of ammo that I can feed into the rifle quickly and not have to use magazines, but also have the semi-auto fire. The only one I have found was mentioned earlier, the early model Ruger 44 caliber rifle. For the moment its one or the other, internal tube fed lever action rifles or mag fed PCC's like the PC-4 or marlin camp guns.
