I had been thinking about a pistol calibered carbine again lately and saw how few and far between they are anymore. If Marlin were to offer their Camp 45 again I'd order one right now.
Then I got to thinking of how neat it'd be if they could just use their model 60 and "upgrade" it to shoot the popular pistol rounds, 9mm, .40s&w and .45acp, tubular magazine and all.
I'd order one of those directly too, whadyall think?

I'd buy one... but it would hardly just be an upgrade. That would be a whole new product line, because it may look the same on the outside but would need vastly different internals. Still, I think it would be a great idea. The only problem is that most of the pistol carbines are of the hipoint variety (I know they aren't the only folks who make them, nor did they start the trend, but they come to mind and most of these guns are of that style). I don't know how well a more classic looking rifle would do in that market. Other than the two of us that is.

If they were to do it, they would most likely use a box magazine, as they did with the 922M and Camp Carbine. I like tube magazines too, but I think the general market prefers box magazines. I could be wrong.

I'd like to see them bring back the Camp Carbine and offer it in .22 WMR, 9MM, .40, and .45 -- I would like one in .22 WMR or 9MM. Maybe both.

It'd be nice if they brought back the Camp 9 with the ability to take Glock mags. Maybe even have a decently quick changing magazine adapter to use XD, M&P and maybe CZ mags.

Kel Tec makes a folding PCC that comes in various magazine configurations, one of the available options is Glock 9x19 or .40S&W magazines

I would be real interested in a tube fed .45. After the performance of the stainless model 60 I purchased from S-Mart, I wouldnt hesitate to purchace one made by Marlin.

Yeah I see no big problem with tube mags Remington had pumps in 32/20, 38/40. think it was a mod 14. Yeah I like it tube mag ,scaled up from 60, chambered in 357mag. If you talk them into it see if you can get Remington to make the 760 pump in 45/70.

Tube mag would work better in saddle scabbard.

On the 357/mod60 what rifling for cast bullets or jacketed?

Yes, I know about Kel-tec's Sub 2000, but it's not quite the same as a Marlin Camp 9.

I wanted a Marlin Camp 9 or 45. I have a Marlin 1894c and I like it a lot, but just wanted an autoloader in a pistol caliber as a range toy for my daughter and I. I even bid on a few of those but they always went for more than I wanted to spend. Opted for a High point .45 acp. I'd never seen one in person, but felt I couldn't get hurt too bad for $260. I'm testing loads for it now. It's been reliable and fun to shoot, I wouldn't hesitate to use it for HD it that was needed.

Ruger had their 44 Mag carbine. If it was a real popular idea I think they would still be making it.

That EMF JR Carbine hasn't been too well reviewed it seems. Too bad, because it looks like a neat concept.
