Hi Fellas.I am thinking about sending off my 10/22 ruger to Clark Custom Guns.
The work they do for $360.00 are,
:Trigger job with over travelstop
:Installation of Clark Match Barrel
:Rout barrel channel in stock for bull barrel
:Bolt release modification.Tune extractor
:Test for function and accuracy.Guarantee to shot 1in groups at 100yds.

Would anyone out there be kind enough to give me some thoughts on this and if the price is decent??
My rifle is fairly new...not a scratch on it.
Thanks...Paul

Clark makes good parts, but they're not really doing anything to your gun that you couldn't do yourself. You can get the same parts they use from Brownells as follows:

$150 barrel
$55 deluxe trigger kit
$8.50 extractor

Add $125 for one of their laminated bull barrel stocks and you're still under $360, not to mention the time and postage.

I have pretty much this same setup, and it shoots great.

I agree with Craigz, you can do everything yourself. The 10/22 is really easy to work with. Punch out some pins, replace some parts...it's really easy. You get the satisfaction of doing it yourself. Go over to www.rimfirecentral.com and you'll get all the help you'd ever need on the odd chance you need some help.

I'll go with the last posters, if you can't do this stuff yourself, you'll know not to every touch the insides of another firearm again. :)

Nice looking rig craigz!!What kind of groups do you get say at 50 and 100yds??
Thanks for all the info

I say do it yourself.:D Just do a little research over on rimfirecentral. J&G Sales has a combo deal, buy a 20 or 16 inch bull barrel and get a Hogue stock with it for about $110.00 and get yourself a Volquarsten hammer, extractor and your choice of scope and your good to go.

$120.00 for barrel,stock and shipping
$40.00 for the hammer and extractor
Total of about $160.00 and spend the rest on a scope or other goodies for the rifle.

You will also feel good about doing it yourself.:D

This one probably averages in the .5s at 50 yards with Wolf Match Target. I've had a few .1s and .2s on really good days. I don't shoot .22 at 100.
