Most people use RIFLES in a stand. If your stand is so small that you can't even manipulate a 6" scoped revolver in it that's a bigger problem than what gun to use.
And, frankly, if a 6" revolver is too hard to handle in the stand, I don't see how a 3" revolver is going to be a lot easier.
If you WANT to try a shot with your SP101, and it's legal, then go for it, but only within the bounds of your shooting ability. You'd better go with good ammunition too.
It seems like that's where you're going with this--I can't imagine that you've really got a stand so small that you can't deal with a 6" revolver while you're in it.
