I've got some of the Surefire 60 "coffin mags"; agreed, they run like a top. :)

I was given one recently, and I didn't even bother taking it out of the plastic. The dadgum thing is about the general size and weight of a bowling ball. If anyone wants it, it's yours for a good price, brand new in the box unopened.:D

Probably will be useful for someone carrying a Squad Automatic Weapon or Light Machine gun.

The drum magazine on the sub-machine gun or on the light machine gun is iconic. Whether it is a rancher mowing down bandits in a Thompson advertisement, Russian soldiers accompanying tanks in the snow or German soldiers sweeping across the steppes of eastern Europe, the propaganda image associating the drum magazine with firepower, success and survival is ingrained in peoples' imagination.

But, when it has come to equipping the individual soldier, essentially every nation on earth has, since 1945, concluded that the best combination of weight, capacity, durability, reliability and handling has been the simple box magazine. I doubt the United States will reach any different conclusion this time around, either.
