I recieved 3K Argentina made SPP a couple days ago and loaded up 50 to try today. I used 158gr Xtreme RNFP 38spl over 6.2gr HS-6 using these new primers in Remington & Perfecta brass. The loading was done on a Lee Classsic Turret press and the primers seated as easily as any of the other SPP I've used. I shot them out of a stock Model 10. All the rounds fired as well as any other primers I've used. I've read they're on the harder side like CCI but the dents in the primers looked as they should. They're brand new mfg and seem to be showing up in multiple places recently. I've posted about these before but figured I'd post my experience after using them.

Who knew Santa came from Argentina?

Branch office.

Are these like the Winchester where there’s only one brisance and cup thickness /pressure limit which makes them good for both standard and “magnum” loads? Or, do they make a standard and a magnum? It hardly matters except with some of the higher nitro ball powders.

I bought a brick of the SA small pistol primers. Looked good to me (packaging and primer appearance). I primed 20, 32 H&R, 20, 32 Long, 20 9mm and 10 38 Special cases. Used my single stage with a ram prime and all seated easily/completely, Only reloaded the 32 H&R but haven't been able to shoot 'em yet. I only bought one brick, mainly to check vendor; Stockpile Cache https://stockpilecache.com/. But sale went through well and decent pricing and shipping...

I should’ve noticed long, long ago, he wears gaucho pants.

I’m wondering more basic stuff like where have these been all these past few years and why are they only now making it to great el Norte? Are these used in CBC or Aguila? Other?

@stonebuster, thanks for the feedback. By any chance did you chrono them and see any velocity difference? I have a friend that tried these SPPs and said he’s also happy with them so far.

To test these primers out, I loaded these primers a couple weeks ago in 32ACP. I only had time to load then fire exactly 19 rounds. They all worked perfectly in my two hammer fired 32 ACP pistols.

I have gone through about 500 of them. They are on the hard side of primer selection. I had some that needed a second strike to fire. They also felt a bit harder to seat fully which MAY have been the reason for needing a second strike.
They may not be perfect or American made (South American?) but they are FAR better than no primers.

I am late on replying to this but I have loaded and shot 5000 of SA primers already and have 4000 left.. I have 2 guns that don’t like them to well both S&W Performance Centers a 929 and a 627. All my other revolvers, 1911’s and other semi auto’s are fine with them. I keep a 1000 Remington on hand just for those 2 guns. When I need more I will not hesitate to buy them again they are great quality and perform as well as any domestic primer. I am also using 3 other imported primers and have had no issues with them either.
