We are currently in the process of setting up a monthly handgun competition for our employees. I'd like to model it on something I used to do years ago with the Costa Mesa NRA Members Council. We had a monthly competition at a local indoor range with something like six or ten six-shot strings. I think it was 10 yards, 15 yard and 20 yards, then maybe a string or two with weak hand, etc. Some strings, called "rapid fire," were timed, but most were not. It was all shooting from the line, no holsters or anything like that. That meant anyone, even the n00biest n00b, could participate.

I believe the entire course of fire was with a single target, so you just added up your score on the one target at the end of your session.

I was wondering whether there was some kind of standard course of fire like that, or was this competition just tossed together? I'd like to settle on a single course of fire, so that we can graph everyone's results over time.

Could anyone recommend something like that? Also, I'm looking for a standard target recommendation.

Thanks.
