Gentlemen

Could I get some feedback on a Garret Sharps Carbine in 50-70 caliber ? Pros & cons and what you feel like is a fair price on a nice used one in today’s market. Thanks Kenneth

Having personally handled and shot a Garret, I wouildn't shy away from one. They are quality guns. They are well respected in the North South Skirmish Association.

I've seen a few Garrett carbines over the years and wish I had been more forward thinking,
but I lean toward rifle length versions.
The quality impressed me as I recall.
Reckon value to me for a clean gun would be up near what Pedersoli is getting if that model
was in my sights. They don't come up for sale everyday.

Don't forget the home made ones:

Somebody forgot the Sharps as made by Harry Sanford before
Shiloh started making guns in Farmingdale. He was the owner of the
name rights and 'Old Reliable' trademark. Must have sold the rights to Wolfgang and the Frenchman in New York.

The rifle is a 45-120. Believe the other caliber was 50-140.
This gun is a handful with the rifle butt stock. LOL!

Typical photos from me once again prove I should get a trophy or an award for
'outstandingly bad photography from a guy with an $800 camera'.

If I was looking at a pair of rifles, one a Pedersoli and one a Garret, I'd be seriously considering the Garret. I'm not saying Pedersoli is a substandard rifle, but that in my mind, Garret is that much better.

If I came across a Garret Sharps Carbine in 50-70 caliber I'd buy it...and I don't need another single shot rifle. (smile)
