Shell Holders

Several suppiers list Number of shell holders for .38 Special.

Are these standardized so a shell holder will fit in any press? Or must a shell holder, say of LEE, only work in a LEE reloading press?

Shell holders are universal. I'd just buy the Lee boxed set and be done with it, unless all I planned to use were Lee dies, because they come with the necessary shell holder.

In case you are not aware, Lee has two different types of shellholders: one for presses and one for hand primers. The nomenclature differentiates, but both include "Shellholder" in the title.

Furthermore, the shell holders for most common presses are interchangeable as far as size and fit, but they follow no standardized numbering system. You need this chart Right Here !!.

By the way. . .who purchased the assets of thew old Pacific (reloading supplies firm? I believe it was Hornady but not sure.
