Knurled Lee Shell Holders?

Silly question. Does anyone know anything about the knurled Lee shell holders? I am not talking about the shell holders for trimming - but shell holders for use in the reloading press. Are they just older? Was it related to the split between the old Lee partnership and what is now Lee Precision? It's not terribly important to know, but just curious.

I have some old Lee shell holder 80s.Never saw any knurled ones.The only knurled ones I have are Redding.
