I'm a big fan of Jim Wilson, and I hope to meet him in person one day. His articles are the best part of ST (and, as good as the rest of ST is, that's a big complement.)
I'm also an Ayoob fan too. His information is often more right than wrong. His stuff is always a good read (check out the collection of his magazine articles on sale now--esp. the .22mag revolver)
As for using handloaded ammo, I don't think it's all the legal hazard that Ayoob states; but I wouldn't use it anyway. First, I don't want to give any lawyer an edge in an arguement (even if it's something this silly). But, most importantly, my reloads don't come close to the quality & performance of factory SD ammo. When the shot counts, I want the best!!
Now, don't get me started on Wiley Clapp...
