Shield 40 Guide Rod and Spring Assembly?

Hello... If I put a heavier spring in my Shield 40 will it reduce recoil? I think stock spring is 18#? I was thinking of a 22#? Can anyone recommend a complete guide rod and spring assembly that is a direct drop in? I found one but it doesn't give the spring # ?

It could also render the pistol useless and will make it harder to rack the slide.

Your best bet with regard to managing recoil would be to look at you, not the pistol. Are you gripping it properly? What stance are you using? Do you push/pull with your hands? Etc, etc, etc.
